This is so true its sad. there is something special about  going to  theatre to see a movie, sitting quietly in a large dark room with dozens of strangers excited about the same thing, its kind of cult like. i don’t like the idea that it might someday become a thing of the past, or something extremely novel.

The Film
What is eternity worth? Would you choose to live forever if it meant the end of new life? In this dark retelling of the classic children’s novel, Pan has discovered a method to allow people to live forever. However, it comes with a perilous consequence: as more people become immortal, no new children can be born. Hook opposes Pan in an effort to defend mortal life, and restore the natural progression of life and death to the world.
Hook teams up with Smee, a young alchemist, and Tinker, a weapons engineer and former love of Pan, to stop Neverland’s growing empire of Lost Boys. With their special ammunition “Pixie Dust” and their resolve to destroy the Neverland that Pan has created, they work together as a dynamic and charismatic trio.”

These people do good work,  i am excited to see how this turns out!

Movie Review: Horrible Bosses

Director: Seth Gordon

Stars: Jason Bateman, Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis

98 min Rated R

Released: 8 July 2011

The premise of this movie is that three buddies become fed up with how unbearable there working environment has become due to their “horrible bosses”, yet do to the nature of the current economic climate quitting isn’t really an option.  The only logical thing left to do is murder their bosses, unfortunately the three of them combined have the sense god gave a box of hair. And hilarity ensues!

This movie has some sexy actors in its supporting rolls,

Kevin Spacey

oh so sexy

Jennifer Aniston

Sexy

Colin Farrell

Quite Sexy

Jamie Foxx

Sexy

and I have to say they basically steal the show. I was a little worried that this roll would have sort of been a bad fit for Aniston since she usually plays rather wholesome rolls but she really owned it, and manage to be quite funny despite being half naked trough the film.

I went in thinking this movie was going to be “good luck chuck”, a kind of funny premise but not much to build a story around, so they would fill it out with gratuitous sex and nudity, but it turned out to be a little more “office space”, doesn’t seem like much is going on there but it’s wacky and kind of mesmerizing .

While this film didn’t quite bring the out roar of laughter, one might expected, I found this film very enjoyable, and held my attention till the end.

Wow mtv is 30 today, that means we have pretty much  grown up together, and have inevitably grown apart, as you do, but I would be quite sad if it went away.

My most vivid memory of mtv is of late nights when I was young channel surfing after the adventures of Benji failed to put me to sleep and finding popular by nada surf ( as well as two turn table and a microphone & smell like teen spirit)

“Do you think that your 16 year old daughter hasn’t masturbated already? Like, do you really think there’s anything in that scene that this chick hasn’t already tried when the lights go out at night, or in the bathroom, or in the tub, or with the shower head or something like that? I’m telling you, man, I’m not teaching this broad anything new. If I were to create a rating system, I wouldn’t even put murder right at the top of the chief offenses. I would put rape right at the top, and assault against women. Because it’s so insanely overused and insulting how much it’s overused in movies as a plot device, a woman in peril. That, to me, is offensive, yet that shit skates.”

Kevin Smith (director) on the ridiculousness of movies about sex receiving NC-17 ratings while extremely violent movies get by with R ratings. (via kevinnj)

Amen

some guy in a broadcasting class once said,” i don’t wanna be watching tv with my 7 year old daughter and all of a sudden have to explain to her about women breasts” making the argument that sex was worse then violence on tv. that was just one of those things that really took me back.
